BUSINESSES in Huntingdonshire which have for years been pressing the district council to give them preference in procurement of goods and services, have inched a step forward.
HDC points out that it has a duty to Council Taxpayers to get the best deal and cannot favour local companies just because of their location.
But it now publishes on its website a list of impending deals for which local companies can bid against all-comers.
Huntingdonshire Business Network's Terry Downing said: "After three years of lobbying HDC has finally launched a website listing projects it is seeking tenders for. All the details are there but you have to look for them on a regular basis."
