ONE of the biggest campaigns to save a Huntingdonshire post office is set to be fought in Great Gransden.
Post Office Ltd is bracing itself for a barrage of petitions and complaints from the village, which has already formed a campaign group.
Postmistress Balbir Basra said: "We have a lot of elderly folk here. We are expecting a very big campaign to keep the branch open."
District councillor Barbara Boddington added: "This would be devastating for Great Gransden and the surrounding villages."
If the campaign to keep the branch open does not succeed, some post office services may remain in the shop under a 'partnership deal', the details of which will be discussed in the consultation period.
