A TEENAGER was robbed by two men in Huntingdon on Sunday (February 26) night.

The 18-year-old woman struggled to hang on to her bag as the men tried to grab it as she was walking along the footpath close to Coneygear Road, near to the Essex Road junction, at about 7.15pm.

The men were able to overpower her before running off with the bag, containing cash, mobile phone and documents.

Officers are keeping an open mind as to whether this crime is linked to several other robberies in the area.

One of the men was described as white, 5'6", with short brown hair and wearing a dark-green hooded top and dark trousers.

The other was described as white, also 5'6" and wearing a black hooded top.

Detective Constable Karin Peters said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Essex Road at the time of the incident and noticed two men running off with a bag.

"We have increased patrols in the area and are working with partner agencies to tackle crime issues.

"The neighbourhood is a safe place to live, however people should remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police."
