Planning permission has been granted for 16,572 solar panels to go up on farmland north of St Ives.
Street Energy Limited already had the go-ahead from Huntingdonshire District Council for 28,704 panels at Wiggin Hill Farm, off Old Ramsey Road.
With its second application also being successful, it brings its total to 45,276, which could provide power for 2,900 homes.
Nigel Street, managing director of Street Energy, said: “The second application was for an extension to the original solar park which will increase the capacity from 7MW to 11MW on a total site of 45 acres.
“Initial site works are now underway and we expect the park to be completed over the summer.”
