NE CAMBS Independent candidate Debra Jordan has tonight said she decided to run for MP after the expenses scandal.

"I had a really good response from people I met and if that transfers to votes I might do well," said Mrs Jordan, from Littleport. "It's the first time I've done this but it won't be the last.

"I didn't know who to vote for and I was fed up by party politics so I thought I would run. The expenses scandal was the final straw to push me into it."

Mrs Jordan is aiming to not come last tonight and added: "I would like to think it won't be a straight forward victory for the Tories but I think they will still win with a smaller majority.
