NEW LOOK: New parking spaces, added security and improved green spaces have been provided at Browns Square in Eynesbury as part of a 100,000 regeneration project.

The money was invested by the Luminus Group as a way to improve the neighbourhood and help deal with anti-social behaviour problems.

Chan Abraham, Luminus chief executive, told guests at a celebration event that the work would help improve the lives of residents by designing out opportunities for anti-social and other criminal behaviour, and build a sense of community spirit.

“Luminus has focused on giving Browns Square a new lease of life that will benefit all the residents of Eynesbury,” he said. “We are delighted be able to provide this valuable new asset that the residents can be proud of.

“Luminus is committed to providing the highest quality affordable homes and happy communities where people can fulfil their aspirations for high quality living and we are truly pleased to be able to offer local people this fresh start.”

Councillor Jeff Dutton, Huntingdonshire District Council chairman who was among the guests, said: “This was an area that has seen serious anti-social behaviour, with local people feeling powerless. Happily Luminus has stepped in, consulted with residents, and invested 100,000 to bring about a lasting solution.”
