The crime-fighting charity are offering up to £1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the people responsible for kicking and punching a man who was walking from Buttsgrove Way to Coneygear Road at 4.15am on December 1. His wallet and mobile were stolen by the gang. One of the men had a mountain bike with him, and another was wearing a woollen hat with a black and white scarf around his neck and face. They were all wearing dark clothing. The attackers were distracted when someone in the area shouted stop at the gang and the victim was able to runaway. He was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with serious injuries and was later discharged. Eastern regional manager for Crimestoppers, Ann Scott, said: This was an unprovoked attack that has left a young man severely shaken up as a result of his ordeal. DC Rachael Ryan said: Were keen to trace a member of the public who was in the area and shouted stop to the group which allowed the victim to run away. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this group. We have increased patrols in the area and Im keen to gather any information that could help us bring the offenders to justice. INFORMATION: Anyone with information should contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or call the police on 101.
