A woman was pushed to the ground by muggers who snatched her handbag as she walked along a footpath in Eaton Socon.

The 56-year-old had her bag stolen at about 2.50pm on Sunday (October 26) as she made her way along a path just off Peer Road.

It is believed two men walked past the lady and then one of them turned around and pushed her to the ground. During the struggle, the woman's bag was taken.

The handbag contained bank cards and a small amount of cash and was later found discarded in a street bin.

Police have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries in a bid to catch the culprits.

The first man is described as white, 5ft 4inches tall, clean shaven with black spiky hair. He was wearing a blue zipped causal jacket. The other man was white, 5ft 6inches, clean shaven and was wearing a grey fleece and a sweatshirt top.

Both are believed to be between the ages of 17 and 19.
