A great-grandmother who survived the Blitz in the East End of London celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday.
Winnie Speller was joined by 30 members of her family for the celebration at the Woodley Court Home, in Godmanchester.
Born in Wanstead, east London, Mrs Speller lived in London most of her life, moving to Huntingdonshire after her husband Bert died in 1997.
Mrs Speller's son Derek, who travelled from Canada to attend the celebration, said: "She is an independent and robust woman."
Mrs Speller has two children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
And the secret of a long and healthy life? "A gin and orange," she joked.
