THE river police enforcement team, known as the Environment Agency, has been demanding licence fees from residents at Hartford Marina without any authority or legal right to do so, which is no different to extortion.
Now they have been exposed, will we see any resignations or sackings? It’s good that these money grabbers not only got their fingers burnt, but may have to refund the cash extorted in the past.
It’s great to live in Britain rather than the Wild West. Well done to Paul Bullen for his letter (Agency ‘has no power’ to impose houseboat fee, March 27).
