A wedding guest, allegedly from St Ives, has a hat like this - and the owner wants it back.

Sharon Caton, who runs Get Ahead Hats from Goddards Farm, near Thaxted, Essex, hired out the £200 headgear in July. When it was not returned, she telephoned the woman she believed was her St Ives customer, only to draw a complete blank. The missing bonnet is the same design as this, but "seaspray" in colour - a sort of pale aqua blue, Sharon said.

"In July, two ladies came and one of them hired a hat for a wedding. It was collected at a later date, but has not since been returned. The lady, whom I have contacted by phone and who collected the hat lives in St Ives Unfortunately, the person on the phone is now denying any knowledge of the name of the lady or the hat. It is a long way for them to come and I initially thought they probably couldn't be bothered to come all the way back, but now I have denials. I am hoping that I may prick someone's conscience. I am in my sixth year in business and this is the first time a hat has not been returned to me."
