I WAS astonished to note the odd letter regarding the new gym in Hemingford (October 25). What a shame that one small-minded villager has the time and inclination to criticise a positive initiative that adds to the attractions of the Hemingfords. It has diverted no funds from other causes, but has brought a new life and vitality to the squash and social club.
The negativity and insularity that emerge from Mr Hunt's letter is precisely why this and future initiatives to develop the gym and squash club are to be welcomed and supported. I use the gym regularly, am fully supportive of this initiative and welcome the vitality that it has brought to the club. Congratulations to those who have supported and developed such new initiatives.
