I AM delighted to see the return of the Ernulf name (The Hunts Post, July 13). It is part of Eynesbury’s heritage and distinguishes Eynesbury from St Neots.
The name of the leisure centre should also change. It is not in St Neots: it is in Eynesbury.
It is important that identities are retained so that future generations can understand how communities have developed and evolved. Wasn't Eynesbury a community before St Neots?
The erosion of identities by bureaucrats has already seen the removal of Huntingdonshire as a county, it now being a 'government district'. The individualities of all the surrounding areas of St Neots should be maintained, not to be divisive but to keep the history alive.
