ELEVEN women from Hail Weston will be donning their customised bras and taking a moonlight stroll across London to raise money for a breast cancer charity.
The group, along with about 15,000 walkers, all wearing decorated bras, took part in this year's Playtex Moonwalk on Saturday (May 16).
Now in its 12th year, the 26-mile walk aims to raise money and awareness for breast cancer charity, Walk the Walk Worldwide.
The 11 friends have been in training since Christmas, walking around St Neots, Little Paxton, Buckden, Grafham Water and Southoe.
They have completed more than 3,000 miles between them in preparation for the marathon.
The group consists of Carina Watson, Mandy Clark, Jayne Tynan, Lorraine Anico, Bridget Bickley, Marny Jolly, Viki Lancaster, Lucy Edwards, Lesley Thorndick, Dawn Milne and Lou Gautrey.
They decided to take part in the marathon after one of the women was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. She has since undergone 18 months of treatment, with positive results.
She wanted to help others in a similar situation, and the group has set a fundraising target of £5,000.
Marny Jolly, who brought the group together and is taking part in the walking marathon, said: "This all started out with a chat in the pub over a drink. It's been hard work, harder than we imagined, but it's also been a great way to meet up with each other and catch up on news while walking."
Since the first Moonwalk the event has brought together more than 170,000 women and men to raise money and awareness of breast cancer.
