MOTORISTS have experienced long delays on and around Huntingdon ring road during rush hour this morning (Wednesday) due to the erection of temporary traffic lights.
The lights are located on the B1514 Riverside Road at the Godmanchester Bridge causing lengthy queues in both directions.
Congestion was reported to the Hartford roundabout and on the Godmanchester side to the A14 J24.
The lights were erected as part of underground works by EDF Energy Networks.
A spokesman for the company said: "The majority of work, including excavating and repairing an underground cable at Godmanchester Bridge, was carried out overnight on Tuesday in order to minimise inconvenience to motorists.
"We would like to thank people for their understanding while we carried out this vital maintenance work."
She added that the lights were removed on Wednesday am.
