THE prospect of establishing a monthly town lottery in St Neots is to move a step further this evening, Wednesday, when it is discussed by town councillors.
The idea is the brainchild of new town mayor Councillor Bob Eaton who saw a similar scheme in Pembrokeshire.
If supported by the town council, it is hoped the scheme, which will help pay for leisure facilities, will initially be used to fund a cinema for the town along with Peter Rowley's £1million gift.
Head of leisure and amenities at the town council, Gavin Clark, has prepared a report looking in to how the Pembrokeshire lottery works.
He said: "It is up to the councillors to decide if they want a town lottery. If they favour the idea I will be able to look in to the feasibility of it in St Neots.
