ST IVES Photographic Club has secured a world first... a talk by the highly regarded Scottish landscape photographer Colin Prior.

The photographer has never previously talked about his work before an audience, but will be in Huntingdonshire on Tuesday, October 26, to talk about his book, High Light, A Vision of Wild Scotland, which is a new portfolio of his work.

Colin’s photographs are everywhere in Scotland, and it’s likely that, if you’ve looked at a panorama of Scotland on a postcard or calendar, then you’ve seen some of his work.

“If you go into any tourist shop in Scotland, you are going to see photographs taken by Colin Prior,” Steve Eeley, publicity officer for St Ives PC, told The Hunts Post. “This [sweeping panoramas] is what he specialises in.”

As well as Colin’s talk, the evening will also feature a presentation by the Bowmore Distillery on Islay, which will be bringing along some samples of its 12 and 15 year-old single malts to taste.

INFORMATION: The talk is taking place at St Ives Free Church, Market Hill, St Ives. Doors open at 7.30pm for a 8pm start. Tickets, which cost £10, are available by sending cheques, payable to St Ives PC, together with an A5 self-addressed envelope, to SIPC Events, Tamour Cottage, London Road, St Ives PE27 5ES.
