ONE of the biggest rock music festivals on the local scene, Rockinbeerfest, has started to announce acts playing at this year's show at Wood Green Animal Shelter. The highlights so far looks set to be The Blockheads, the former backing band of late legendary singer Ian Dury. The band have provided the music for classic tracks such as Hit me with your rhythm stick and Sex and drugs and rock and roll. Other acts confirmed include cult singer John Otway, Deborah Bonham and Medicine Hat. More are to be confirmed, as soon as we'll know we'll let you know.- Wood Green Animal Shelter has a brand new charity shop at its Godmanchester shelter. The shop was opened just before Christmas and replaced a temporary building in the grounds. The shop, staffed by 15 volunteers, raises a huge amount of money for the charity - last year the shop raised over £18,000.Wood Green receives no money from the Government so relies solely on donations from the general public.The shop sells donated goods and all profits go to the shelter.INFORMATION: The shop is open everyday from 11am to 3pm.RICHARD PAUL
