TOILETS in the Globe Place car park in St Ives and by the Chinese bridge in Godmanchester will be closed for the next two months for refurbishment.
The £150,000 contract with Huntingdonshire District Council, part of a programme of upgrading facilities in the district's market towns, will provide new ladies' and gentlemen's toilets, facilities for disabled people and a baby-changing area in each location.
Temporary toilets have already been installed at Godmanchester. In St Ives, where there are conveniences nearby at the bus station - due to be upgraded in due course - temporary toilets will be put in the car park in time for the Inland Waterways Association's festival that is expected to attract 30,000 visitors to the town over the Summer Bank Holiday weekend next month.
