THIEVES tried to steal cattle from a farm by loading them onto a lorry.
The attempted theft took place at Tilbrook Grange in Catworth Road, Tilbrook between 9.30pm on Tuesday, April 7 and 6am the following morning.
It is believed the thieves attempted to load a herd of cattle from a shed, next to the farm, just off the B660 on to a cattle lorry but fled after being disturbed.
The farmer reported finding marks on the floor of the cattle shed, which he believed were created by a lorry. He also found the entrance to the shed open.
