A MAN test-driving a vehicle in Huntingdon stole it and left the salesman in a layby.

The thief entered the Murketts Vauxhall showroom on Stukeley Road, Huntingdon at about 1pm on March 27 with the aim of test driving a van. A salesman accompanied the man on the drive and parked in a layby to switch places.

The offender then jumped in the driver's seat of the vehicle and drove off, leaving the salesman.

CCTV images have been released of a man police believe may be able to help with their investigations.

DC Anthony Grief, who is investigating, said: "We believe the man pictured could help us with our investigations so we would appeal to him, or anyone who knows him, to get in touch."
