ON April 29 at about 8.30pm, I tripped and fell while walking up some stairs in a pub in St Neots.

This caused injuries needing emergency treatment and stitches, and I was taken to the accident and emergency department at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The staff (the doctor and two nursing sisters at the hospital and the two paramedics who came to the pub) were not only kind, caring and good-humoured but also highly efficient and prepared to take the time and a considerable amount of trouble to get it right.

Thanks to them, I am now recovered with no permanent damage.

I would like to say a big thank you to you all for being there when I need them.
