OXMOOR is to lose its post office for a week before it moves to new purpose-built premises in Oak Drive.
The new office will be part of the shopping centre being built for the heart of Oxmoor, with adjacent community and healthcare facilities.
The present premises, 500 yards away in Sapley Square, will close on March 9, with the new post office opening on Friday, March 17.
The new office will have level access suitable for wheelchair users, better parking and dedicated spaces for blue badge holders.
The week's closure was needed to move equipment and set it up in its new home, a spokesman said.
In the meantime, customers' nearest alternative - since Hartford Post Office was closed two years ago in spite of vocal objections from users - is in St Germain Walk, Huntingdon, 1.3 miles from Sapley Square.
