Children and their parents gathered at the Saxongate Centre in Huntingdon on Saturday as some of the town's top young snappers were rewarded for their keen eyes and creativity. The children had been competing in the Hinchingbrooke Rotary Club's young photographer of the year competition, sending in entries in four categories: landscape, people, places and animals. Five primary schools took part in the competition, which was judged by past president of the club, Margaret Gledhill, photographer Ken Challenger, and Andy Veale, editor of The Hunts Post. Judging again proved to be a hard task with so many eye-catching photographs entered into the competition, but eventually four overall winners were found as well as a host of runners-up. The results in each category were: Animals: 1. Louise Stovold 2. Katy Randall 3. William Jones 4. Stephen Lutman. Landscape: 1. Toby Richardson 2. Jessica Plack 3. Stephen Lutman 4. Greg Hood. People: 1. Katie Lunn 2. Madeleine Cresswell 3. Stephen Lutman 4. Matthew Wright. Places: James Barkshire 2. Katie Lunn 3. Jessica Plack 4. Rebecca Ward. INFORMATION: An exhibition of the children's work will be at Huntingdon library until Saturday. n Competition winners and runners-up are pictured with Bob Hulstrom, past president of Hinchingbrooke Rotary Club, who presented the children with cash prizes and certificates.
