All of the pupils at a Huntingdonshire school are being encouraged to spend some time reading over the summer holidays, thanks to a generous gift.
Every pupil at Kimbolton School has been given a copy of The Boy in Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne.
It is hoped by issuing the same book to all students, the whole school will be able to take part in discussions about the book when they return in September.
It is set in Berlin in 1942 and follows the lives of two boys caught up in terrible events that are beyond their control.
Steve Pollard, head of English at the school, said: "I'm looking forward to the discussions we'll have about the book, both in and out of the classroom, when everyone returns in September.
