A CROSS-channel swimmer has launched a new swimming academy in Huntingdonshire offering lessons for children and adults.

The Cambridge Swimming Academy will be holding lessons at the 15-metre heated pool at Buckden Marina Leisure Club.

Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3.30pm for children and from 6pm for adults and will be taken by Edward Williams.

Edward is a qualified ASA instructor, and open water swim coach for the Cambridge Triathlon Club and Channel Swimming Association. In 2006, he became one of the youngest swimmers to complete the gruelling 26 mile Cross Channel Swim and raised more than £30,000 for Prostate Cancer Research.

Tuition will be offered to people of all ages and abilities from complete non-swimmers through to national champions.

The maximum number of children in each class is three to maximise their progression. Adult lessons are conducted on a one-to-one basis to ensure students receive individual attention.

The Cambridge Swimming Academy also holds lessons in Cambridge six days a week.
