SUPPORTERS of Craig Alden are demonstrating in London this week to coincide with the state visit of the President of Brazil.
Alden, 36, from Warboys, is serving 12 years in a Brazilian jail for child abuse at an orphanage he set up in 199l.
His family and friends say he did not have a fair trial because his lawyers missed the deadline for submitting their case.
President Lula da Silva of Brazil has been invited by Her Majesty the Queen for a state visit to Britain. He arrived yesterday and is due to leave on Thursday. A demonstration was arranged for yesterday in Whitehall and another is planned today (Wednesday) at the Brazilian Embassy in Green Street, near Marble Arch, when a petition calling for a re-trial will be handed in.
