I WOULD like to express my disappointment at the picture of striking teaching assistants from Spring Common School (March 29).
As your readers will be aware, children who attend special schools are one of the most vulnerable groups in society.
While I accept that the strikers have a good case for parity with professional colleagues, I feel it is wrong that in this instance they have made vulnerable children suffer in pursuit of financial gratification.
May I conversely congratulate the teaching assistants at my own son's special school - Samuel Pepys School in St Neots - who on this occasion put the interests of vulnerable children and their families above their own self-interest by working normally.
