CAMBOURNE'S first trailer park is due to open and receive its first caravan on Friday.

The keys to the storage facility are being handed over by Cambourne consortium project director David Chare to Cambourne Parish Council.

The parish council will own and manage the facility, which is situated off New Hall Lane on the fringes of Cambourne and has storage space for 55 caravans, trailers and camper vans.

It also has a water supply, electricity and security fencing with restricted access.

While Cambourne residents will be given priority, pitches will also be available for residents of surrounding villages to store their caravans.

Mr Chare said: "We are delighted to be giving the trailer park to the residents of Cambourne, offering them a safe and secure place to store their caravans, trailers and camper vans.
