CHILDREN at Burleigh Hill Pre-school in St Ives now have a pretend road, zebra crossing, traffic lights and petrol pumps in their playground to help them learn about road safety.
The pre-school, based at Wheatfields Primary School, raised money for the project with events, including a sponsored wax, Easter raffle and treasure hunt, to raise the £400 needed to have the playground painted.
The playground also has a pond with letter lily pads and a hop-scotch game.
The playground was officially opened by the MP for Huntingdon, Jonathan Djanogly, with a children's party and a balloon race.
