Staff satisfaction sees Wyboston Lakes climb up list of best companies

Staff at Wyboston Lakes are celebrating after receiving one of the top accolades in the business sector after being named on The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list – for the fourth consecutive year.
The 380-acre resort climbed 15 places this year to achieve 28th position, amongst companies including Wilmott Dixon, Toyta and Build-a-Bear.
The prestigious list is compiled from a survey that seeks the views of employees on eight key areas, including wellbeing, leadership and personal development to give the business an overall ranking.
Mark Jones, managing director of Wyboston Lakes, said: “It is vitally important for us to know that we have a happy and engaged team as our employees are the most valuable asset we have.
“As a company we are absolutely thrilled to be recognised as part of The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For especially achieving the 28th place ranking.”
As part of the process, Wyboston Lakes was issued a three-star accreditation status which deems the company to be ‘extraordinary’.
Of the staff surveyed, 72 per cent said they did not feel under too much pressure to perform well, with 76 per cent satisfied their work did not interfere with home life.

Chelsey Hutchinson, people and culture director, said that the placing not only highlights the company’s investment in people but also its facilities. “Last year we invested in upgrading facilities and bedrooms and this year we are looking to invest further funds to carry on the improvement.
“But it’s not just the facilities that are important, it’s also the guest experience, and this comes from the genuine hospitality and customer service we delight our guests with,” said Ms Hutchinson.
“It is important to us to help our employees grow and develop their skills so that we can offer the best service possible.
“Our development programme has been a great success and has seen many people flourish and meet their career goals.”
Founded in 1983 by Peter Hutchinson, to form part of a portfolio of businesses, Wyboston Lakes has enjoyed steady growth year-on-year.
