A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in St Neots on Tuesday evening (September 9).
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man and a woman from a second floor flat in the town's Russell Court at about 10pm.
The fire service was called to the second floor flat at 9.38pm and remained on the scene until 10.50pm.
A 23-year-old man from St Neots was arrested in the aftermath of the incident.
Fire investigation teams and police scene of crime officers were still at the site on Wednesday morning, seeking to establish the exact cause of the blaze.
