A GROUP of 13 men gathered in St Ives on Sunday night and four of them attacked a teenager.

Police are carrying out house-to-house inquiries after the ruckus in Shakespeare Road, during which a man aged 19 was hurt.

Police attended the scene and six men were arrested, aged 38, 28, 27, 25, 22 and 18.

Detective Sergeant Rob Turner, investigating, said: "This crime is being thoroughly investigated. I would like to reassure the community that incidents such as these are very rare and we do not believe this was a random attack.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this disorder in the street on Sunday. Any information, no matter how small, may help with this investigation and bring those responsible to justice."
