PRETTY IN PAINT: A large collection of Ouse Valley paintings – including work by artists past and present – is to be exhibited and then auctioned next month.

The collection belonged to Michael Knight, an antique dealer from St Ives. While the collection included studio pottery and paintings, Mr Knight’s main love was for the artists who lived and worked around St Ives at the turn of the century.

The auction, which will take place in St Ives, will include the works of popular artists such as Willie Watt Milne and the Fraser family depicting scenes of the Huntingdonshire district such as the St Ives bridge, the Hemingfords, Wyton, and Holywell.

INFORMATION: The collection will be on display at St Ives Corn Exchange on Friday, November 16, from 10am until 7pm, and on Saturday, November 17, from 9am until 1pm. The sale, organised by Cheffins, will then take place on the Saturday from 2.30pm in the Cromwell Suite at the Corn Exchange.
