A GROUP of fishermen who regularly use Grafham Water have helped clean up their environment by litter picking at the site.

Twenty members of Grafham Water Fly Fishers Association spent two hours collecting all manner of rubbish, from beer cans to dog mess, with support from Anglian Water.

The group collected a full trailer load of rubbish, consisting of plastic bottles, drinks cans and dog mess.

Colin Brett, from Bar Hill, has been fishing at Grafham for 38 years. He said: "The fishing at Grafham is excellent and it is a shame to see the place littered by thoughtless individuals - and sadly there seemed to be more litter than ever this year.

"The litter pick has become an annual event and we are happy to be able to improve the environment at Grafham Water for ourselves and other users."
