Perhaps readers will be interested in a report produced by Cambridgeshire County Council, which shows that, when it monitored the traffic in Nelson Road over a week, the average speed of the 39,327 vehicles that used the road in that period was 24mph. Only nine per cent of vehicles exceeded the 30mph speed limit, and only 95 vehicles (0.24 per cent) exceeded 40mph.
