A CONTRACT has been placed to build the new surgery in Little Paxton - after a year long patients' campaign by to save the surgery.

It is hoped that the practice will be moving into the new surgery building by the end of July. The Save Our Surgery Campaign has said it will buy equipment not provided by the Primary Care Trust. The campaign has set aside money for equipment for the staff room to thank staff for all their efforts during the period of uncertainty last year. Funds have also been earmarked for toys and books for children in the waiting area.

The SOS is planning a series of fund raising events to help raise further funds. The first of these is a Barn Dance on Saturday, April 8 at 7.30 pm in Little Paxton Village Hall. Dancing will be to Parson's Nose and there will be a licensed bar. Tickets £6 including supper are available from Little Paxton Surgery or Jean Matheson (01480 476298).
