I AM writing to say how nice the new fountain and seating area looks in St Benedict's Court, Huntingdon. However, I think there is something fishy going on.

First of all we had the gate shut near Wilkinsons, by the owners of Churchmanor, to force people to go round by Chequers Court past their shops. Now they have removed all the covered sheltered areas - the St Benedict's Court gazebo and the covered area between the Baker's Oven and the former Threshers shop. I think this was a deliberate ploy, so that when it rains people will have to take cover in their shops.

If this is not the case, perhaps Churchmanor could give some explanation for this. With all the work going on at the moment in Chequers Court, and the narrowness of the area, would this not be a good time to show some common sense and open the gate to alleviate some of the congestion in Chequers Court, especially on a Saturday?
