Defending champion Chris Short, from Wolverhampton, pictured, finished runner-up at the English national table football championships in Huntingdon at the weekend.
Short lost out 1-0 in the final of the individual tournament - of the game known to many as Subbuteo - to new champion Chris Thomas, from the Midlands-based San Siro club.
