A Huntingdon employer has won a national award for its commitment to protecting staff from the dangers of second-hand smoke.
Luminus Group has been awarded the National Clean Air Award after safeguard ing employees by ensuring both the grounds and buildings of its Huntingdon office are completely smoke free. Smoking is also banned in company vehicles.
Chan Abraham, chief executive of Luminus Group, said: "We are pleased to have been awarded this gold award. At Luminus we strive to provide and promote healthy lifestyles for all employees and customers."
The award was presented by Zoe Harvey, tobacco control co-ordinator for Smoke- Free Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Mrs Harvey, said: "We are delighted that Luminus Group has taken this important step to safeguard the health of their employees and customers. Any workplace interested in ensuring it complies with forthcoming legislation can contact me for support and advice."
