BAD weather caused the 12 hour skate jam in Brampton to be cut short on Saturday. Twelve youths turned up to take part in the skate jam but could manage only a few hours on the ramps because of the rain. Huntingdon youth work manager Steph Webb said: "It was such a shame, the youngsters had turned up ready to take part but they just couldn't do more than a few hours because the ramp got too slippery." The event, which aims to raise money for a new piece of skate equipment called a spine to be constructed at Brampton skate park, has now been rescheduled to take place at Y2Skate in Peterborough on July 15 from 9am to 9pm. Mrs Webb added: "The youngsters have already raised \u00A3300 in sponsorship for their 12 hour skate jam but because they didn't complete the full skate because it was cancelled we felt it only fair it should go ahead on another date. At least in July it will take place indoors so the rain can't ruin it but I guess we should have known better than to have planned something on a bank holiday weekend.
