I READ with astonishment (The Hunts Post, July 18) that a plaque was allowed to be made and erected with a simple spelling mistake - yet another waste of Council Tax payers' money.
It took a reader a year to spot the mistake. The blame can be laid two ways, firstly the HDC employee who gave the sign-writing company the order with incorrect spelling. Then the most amazing thing is the sign-writing company actually producing the sign incorrectly. They make signs all day long: do they not know how to spell?
The sign should be changed entirely at their cost for not employing good proof readers.
