AT long last I have received a reply (Letters, April 5) from the new leader of Huntingdonshire District Council, Councillor Ian Bates, inviting me to meet the council's head of environment and transport regarding Pathfinder House.
I was not aware that Pathfinder House was a speculative building purchased by the council. This raises the question of what professional advice was sought when purchasing the building.
Finally, I am sure your readers will be interested to know that "The design-life of the key structural components of the replacement building will be 60 years", although it is expected that they will last much longer.
I ask does this make sense, would anyone buy a house with a life expectancy of 60 years, let alone a building for public use costing £23million?
Who on earth is running the district council?
