WE would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal by providing shoeboxes or items to go in shoeboxes, or by helping at the processing centre in Huntingdon Methodist Church.
To date 15,879 shoeboxes have been sent from Huntingdon, most of which went to Serbia with the remainder to Romania.
More than 100 local volunteers have helped with this operation, as well as many others in homes, schools, playgroups, churches etc who provided filled boxes for us to send.
We have already received pictures and reports back from distribution teams.
The look of surprise and joy on the faces of children as they were given a box, often the only gift they had, has made the effort well worth while.
