HAVING now had the opportunity to read the summary of the latest report commissioned by Cambridgeshire County Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and the Highways Agency, I note that one significant detail has been omitted from the publicity to date.
Paragraph 14 clearly states that the preferred route, that is the one that involves demolishing the viaduct, will result in significant delays and queues occurring on both the Brampton Road and the proposed west-of-town-centre link/Ermine Street junction at both morning and evening peak periods. The report also fails to mention the economic 'disbenefit' of £300million over the long term.
