A SECOND person has died on the A1123 in St Ives just days after a young woman was killed as she cycled along the road to work.
Police were called just after noon on Tuesday (September 18) to Houghton Road between Marsh Lane and Sawtry Way to reports of a one vehicle collision.
Initial reports from police revealed one motorist had died but details of the victim and their vehicle were not known.
Junctions joining the A1123 were closed including St Ives Road, Mere Way, Sawtry Way and Holme Fen Road. Diversions were set up.
On Friday, Melanie Burton, 33, of St Ives, died after she was involved in a collision with a lorry in Houghton Road, St Ives.
