HARTFORD Junior school has won an award for being at the forefront of using information and communications technology to enhance its work.
The school received the prestigious ICT Mark, a quality mark which recognises schools which can demonstrate they use ICT to support students and school activities.
The mark is awarded by the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta) which has assessed Hartford on its approach to ICT, from leadership and vision through to learning and teaching in the classroom.
Headteacher Miriam Piper said: "The ICT Mark recognises our approach to ICT and the positive impact that it is having on our school as a whole."
Neil McLean, executive director of educational practice at Becta, added: "Hartford Junior School thoroughly deserves this accolade. They clearly demonstrate how important it is to take a holistic approach to using ICT in a school. By doing this, their investment in new technologies has contributed to improvements in learning.
