PUPILS from Westfield Junior School in St Ives have been helping an artist create a new piece of work. During their visit to the Norris Museumbefore the end of term, children watched sculptor Anthony Lysycia carve both in stone and wood, creating small and large scale sculptures. They then helped the artist begin work on sculptures based on the wildlife of St Ives - dragonflies. Year 6 teacher Ruth Roberts said: "The children had a great time. For some it was the first time they had seen a sculptor at work and they were quite amazed at the skill and patience involved." The trip was organised by the St Ives Festival Committee and pupils.
