GIANT wall paintings have been set out outside Eastfield Primary School in St Ives illustrating the school's motto.
The mural, created by artist Debbie Hancock, have been inspired by pictures painted by pupils to interpret the school's mission statement: To dream, to strive, to achieve, to celebrate.
Headteacher Elaine Lynch expplained she felt that the external appearance of the school did not truly reflect the vibrancy and creativity of school life and asked Mrs Hancock, mother of Theo, a Year One pupil at the school, to help.
Ms Lynch said: "We are delighted with the work, which will be used in different ways by the children and would like to thank Debbie very much for her hard work and enthusiasm."
Mrs Hancock told The Hunts Post: "I was delighted to have the chance to interpret the school's motto. Using some of the children's drawings as a starting point, my ideas turned into a little narrative about the meaning of the motto. I wanted the pictures to brighten up the children's environment and give them a deeper understanding of the school's values. So far the feedback from children, parents and staff has been fantastic. Eastfield is an excellent school and makes a great contribution to the St Ives community."
She added: "I am very grateful to the Ramsey Paint Company, in St Ives, for the excellent advice and supply of materials and to parent Richard Bielby and school caretaker Nev Runham, who put up the pictures.
