ABOUT 100,000 pieces of Lego have been used to create a larger than life seven foot Santa in the living room of a Huntingdon home. Michael Addias, a teacher at Hinchingbrooke School and his wife Catherine Weightman who works for Natural England and their three children Christopher, nine, Holly, 12, and Thomas, 15 built the Lego Santa. The family who live in Great Northern Street collected the Lego over a number of years and started work on the giant Father Christmas in September. They have been making different models out of Lego for the past 15 Christmases and previous creations include a solider, carol singers and a replica of the family's own home. The tallest model they have built so far was last year's angel that measured just over eight foot in height. "It is something different to do for Christmas - instead of doing a jigsaw we build Lego models," said Catherine. "We enjoy doing it and our friends and family enjoy seeing the finished models." Christmas cards with a photograph of the model are sent out to friends and family.
